Fabrics are an integral part of the designs we admire most but it is often the design of the textile itself that is a key to the function and longevity of these objects. Heddal Stitched is another GU product designed to be both beautiful, through its hand woven look, and functional through its outstanding durability.
Heddal Stitched is inspired by both tailor-made garments and high-tech sports knitwear.
Heddal Stitched has been about exploring the attributes that make hand woven fabrics attractive to end users and integrating them into a textile that meets the demands of the upholstery industry. We have expanded the capabilities of industrial weaving to produce a hand-crafted look that encompasses the volume and elasticity of a knit and the stitched look of a tailored garment.
A defining feature of Heddal Stitched is how this design has allowed us to colour the collection in a unique way that complements the structural components.
"Heddal Stitched is inspired by both tailor-made garments and high-tech sports knitwear. The goal was to create a modern textile with qualities from strong craftsmanship, where the colors are taken from the sports segment," says designer Ragnhild Nordhagen about the idea behind the latest addition to the GU collection.
This fabric embodies the traits we, as a mill, are famous for - drawing on our generations of experience to utilise modern production methods in order to produce next-level fabrics.
