The Norwegian Opera & Ballet presents Norwegian design
Til oppdraget "Den Norske Opera & Ballett" ønsket Snøhetta en norsk møbelprodusent og norske tekstiler.
The Norwegian Opera wanted to offer its guests more seating. Snøhetta, was responsible for designing the entire interior of the Opera, which inluded designing a series of sofas, pouffes and tables.
Focus on Norwegian design
For the assignment, Snøhetta wanted a Norwegian furniture manufacturer and Norwegian textiles. LK Hjelle was given responsibility for producing and delivering the seating furniture, and Gudbrandsdalens Uldvarefabrik the textiles.
For Snøhetta, it was important that the new series had a clear connection to the rest of the interior and a modular sofa with two mirrored poufs was the answer. The seating furniture can be put together in different constellations that can be adapted to the needs of different events.
With elements twisted from three colours, the textile Redal combines lively colors with natural, soft gray mélanges.
The choice fell on the furnishing textile Redal. With a fine-tuned color scale, Redal naturally fit into the chosen palette. The textile combines lively colors with natural, soft gray melanges. With elements twisted from three colours, Redal brings out the best of the historic colors at Gudbrandsdalens Uldvarefabrik. Redal brings natural warmth, quality and color harmony.
As a detail and foretaste of the orange velvet found in the chairs in the hall inside, a contrasting textile in orange from the Remix series by Kvadrat has been added to the seam details on sofas and poufs.
