Flexible car with flexible material
Renault's designers took a particular interest in the fabric Prinsdal because of the superb stretch quality and the strong colours. The fabric is a wool stretch in mohair and wool which, due to its unique combination of construction and materials, is very elastic. Prinsdal contains a small portion (2.5%) of Elastane in the yarn construction. The weave construction is open and thus contributes to flexibility, and the final stretch is achieved in the finishing processes after weaving.
Renault MORPHOZ represents a new family of autonomous, futuristic and ingenious electric models. Renault MORPHOZ adapts to all users and needs, can change its physical dimensions and transform into one of two versions - City and Travel.
When the Renault MORPHOZ was launched in early 2020, it revealed a modular interior upholstered in an exclusive, bright yellow, Norwegian fabric from the Prinsdal collection. The fabric was designed by Pia Bjørnstad, and received the "Mark for good design" in 2015.
Sustainable choices
GU is a manufacturer of high-quality substances and is certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System Standard). We are concerned with making fabrics from natural materials, and we do our very best to use the most environmentally friendly chemicals in production.
Renault MORPHOZ is an example of how sustainability and innovation go together.
As far as Prinsdal is concerned, both wool and mohair are natural and sustainable raw materials from sheep and angora goats. This is a high-quality fabric with a long life. Both wool and mohair are fibers with natural properties that absorb water. As a result, it is pleasant and comfortable to sit on this type of fabric, and the fabric is easy to clean and maintain. The Renault MORPHOZ is an example of how sustainability and innovation go together.
